Hi Vicki,

I understand the timing issues around InfoPro; however, there have been
Tweets, Facebook posts, and updates to the ARMA International website since
July 28th. And this is of a piece with the issues discussed at length in
June around ISO/DIS 30300. I know the MoReq2010 public consultation
continues and haven't seen much out of ARMA about that, though I did see a
single Tweet on August 2.

It just seems inconceivable to me that it could have taken this long to
mention the existence of this standard to the professionals that are the
foundation of the association. Clearly it was felt important enough to send
to SAA that the effort was made. And I am not reassured by the fact that not
only was the SAA notified, but that ARMA even sent someone to their
conference to present it before sharing it with our membership.

I will not share my thoughts on the draft just yet but I am preparing a
lengthy list of comments that I hope will be taken into account and I
strongly encourage other participants on this list to get the document and
do the same.

I also hope that ARMA will at some point consider posting its availability
to the home page of the ARMA website and to its blog
(http://armablog.typepad.com/informationoverload/) - I think this is of more
importance to the membership than whether Chicago trash collectors should be
reporting suspicious activities to police.

And I hope there are no other significant efforts such as public reviews,
ISO ballots, etc. that we will find out about from third parties.

Respectfully submitted,

Jesse Wilkins, CRM
