2 caveats: 1. I am not looking - not why I'm posting this. 2. Not a dig on
PaK in any way.

Those said, why is it OK to post job listings with no salary range? You
wouldn't post a job listing without a geographic location, details of
duties, minimum/desired qualifications because it would waste your and the
candidate's time. It's just as much a waste of time to post a position that
has no information about salary - or worse, "salary commensurate with
experience".

We've seen postings in the past where they wanted MA/MBA/Ph.D, 20+ years of
experience, certification on ten different ECRM systems, etc. and when you
ask for salary range it's something like $45K. But it's not posted, because
when the salary and expectations are so mismatched it's publicly scorned
(and rightly so).

Here's hoping the new ARMA salary survey eases this just a skosh - but in
the meantime if you're gonna post a position do those who are looking a
favor and at least provide a salary range so they know whether it is worth
the time to apply, prepare references, and so forth.

Best,

Jesse Wilkins, CRM
