Hi all, 

 

Wanted to make those of you who are association chapter officers and members
aware of a new development regarding AIIM's Certified Information
Professional certification. We have just released a CIP training toolkit
targeted at chapters - any chapter of an association related to information
management including, but certainly not limited to, AIIM and ARMA. 

 

The toolkit includes PowerPoint decks with around 800 slides and speaker
notes that cover the 6 domains and 32 knowledge areas covered by the exam.
It also includes a series of PPT-based sample quizzes with answers, a list
of additional resources, a bibliography, and a list of the videos with the
direct YouTube links included.  

 

Chapters can use the toolkit in a number of ways: to provide an overview of
what the CIP covers; to outline the domains and knowledge areas; to teach a
particular area like Enterprise Search or Data Privacy as part of a chapter
meeting; or even to deliver a full- or multi-day workshop for prospective
candidates. It also gives chapter members and officers the opportunity to
teach an area they are strong in - or force themselves to become stronger in
a weak area in order to teach it. 

 

AIIM does not plan to teach CIP training workshops - as many of you know
it's a better practice with formal certifications to keep some distance
between the three pillars of exam development, exam administration, and
training and preparation. But chapters that want to offer this content as
part of chapter meetings or standalone workshops are free to do so at no
charge from AIIM.
