Just a word of caution from an experience I had some time ago.  

I purchased a couple of boxes of blank DVD's from a supply house in Chicago.  When they arrived, they were packed for shipping using waste paper as filler.  The paper used was from an accounting firms review of the medical insurance needs of a car dealership in Anchorage, Alaska.  Included were personal data and medical histories of the dealership's employees and their families.  When I contacted the accounting firm, they were understandably upset as the documents had been collected by their shredding vendor for destruction.

I have a media disposal bin outside the door of my office.  I use it only for media that has been securely wiped first (LavaSoft- File Shredder).  While there is little risk that someone will pocket a handful of papers out of the tons that are disposed, I think that a perfectly good thumb drive may prove to be a temptation.
