I participated in some of these discussions and made my push for my home
city of Denver - which is how I heard about the "locked in through 2019"
thing.
But consider: major airline hub for at least United, Frontier, and
Southwest and direct flights from most other major airlines' hubs; recently
revamped convention center which is way big for the (current) expo floor;
lots of hotels adjacent to or within a block of said center; relatively
inexpensive city, even downtown; and as a rule it doesn't snow until 2nd
week of Oct and generally doesn't snow significantly until....around now.
Not quite as warm as San Diego or Orlando but we have world-class skiing an
hour away, Cherry Creek Mall for your high-end shopping needs, more days of
sunshine per year than either of those places, an exceptional ARMA Mile Hi
Denver Chapter with wonderful and friendly ARMA peoples, and me as your
gracious host/airport-picker-upper.
OK, don't hold that last part against Denver. :)
