Since I'm the one that was interested, couple points of clarification.

1. I finished my 100 credits for this recert cycle long long ago.
2. I was interested in taking Part V to see what the issues were from my
perspective not just as a CRM but as a confirmed IT guy and as someone who
has written hundreds of (non-CRM) exam questions for 4 separate
certifications, and see if I could discern any issues that might be of
value to the Regents. It looks like that's not as urgent because they are
already aware of it.
3. I frequently take other certifications again as they are updated so I am
conversant with the updated content both as a frequent instructor for said
certifications and for when questions are raised by colleagues. I've taken
the CompTIA CDIA+ at least 6 or 7 times though not since the most frequent
update. It surprises me slightly that there's no mechanism for retaking
Parts I-V, especially V since it does need to change so frequently. That's
one of the flaws in many recertification regimes: on the face of them they
provide for ongoing education, but there's no requirement generally a) that
they be spread out over the recert period - I got mine within the first 6
months of certification and tech has changed since 2009; and b) there's
often no guarantee that the recertifying credits are earned in the things
that have changed. I could have done 100 points on paper-based records
management and microfilm and it would have been just as valid as doing it
on analytics, social, and records automation. This is not to call out the
ICRM on that, most certifications have the same issue, but it is what it is.

Hope this clarifies,

jesse
