Perhaps yours does not, but my bank checks my signature on a regular basis both for deposits and for withdrawals.  They compare the signature or endorsement on the check to the one on my driver's license. 

Our local Target, Walmart, and Kmart stores also seem to have some sort of signature validation protocol.  Their POS system flags us on an annual basis and the clerk must validate our check signature against our driver's license.  It appears to be an annual exercise because it happens about the same time every year.  When it happens, the clerk appears to key in something confirming that they viewed the DL license.
