I would ask IT if they are willing to do that with all of the stuff they have in their kitchen, garage, and his gun cabinet/her jewelry box. I think that would help frame the conversation a bit better.
Then again, if IT wants to save real money, delete life insurance policies. After all, they cannot be worth much if they haven't been used in the last 24 months...
