Just a quick note on the simplicity of barcodes.  Any application that accepts keyboard input is essentially barcode enabled.  Simply purchase a reader with a barcode wedge (keyboard interface) and scan away.  The scanner will read the barcode and input the content just as if you were entering it via the keyboard.  Barcoding files, shelving locations, and common commands make the process extremely simple, powerful and accurate and extremely inexpensive.  Payback in many applications will come in the first use of the technology.

It is one of the best tools available for increasing productivity and efficiency.
