Trudy,

This isn't a joke. I am not affiliated with Steve Jackson Games, I just
happen to visit their "Daily Illuminator" blog. I saw the request and
thought that someone on the listserve might be able to help them fulfill
their request.

To clarify (again, this is mostlu supposition since I posted the entire
request from SJ games), I believe SJ Games is looking for a way to orginize
their archive of games. These are not (just) the products that they
currently sell, this includes products from competitors and out-of-print
items. It is essentially a reference collection for developers to access
when creating new products.

They are trying to see the best way to arrange the collection for their
reference. A default (alphabetically by publisher) doesn't appeal strongly
to them. Would you suggest a multi-faceted database (facets including
publisher, subject/genre, game mechanic, etc.)?
